The area “Eichli” is located above the busy highway, the main road and main north-south connection of the railway and is heavily exposed to noise. At this site, a new center for residential and commercial purposes was planned. In a first step, a strategy was developed to sell a part of the area and to re-invest in the planning and realization. In addition, negotiations were conducted with the municipality, canton and the Swiss federal railways to achieve a denser building zone. As a result, the project was completed with 18 lofts, a parking garage and commercial space on the ground floor. The old chalets, which are used as restaurants on the main street, were incorporated into the overall design and form part of the new housing development.
