Location: Zug, CH
Remarks: Project 2009, Realization 2011
Originally planned as a two-family house, today the smaller, two-story part of the house is used by the landlord as an office. The ground floor with the two entrances occupies little space; covered outdoor places and the garden determine the first impression. The upper floor with the bedrooms uses the entire buildable area and exceeds the building limits with bays on each side of the house. The private living rooms with a large terrace area in the attic, withdrawn and safe from insights. Wherever possible, bookshelves were installed for the largest private library of the Canton Zug. In this house, ecology is a matter of fact. From the microclimatic orientation of the house, the construction, the choice of natural materials to technical equipment, all aspects of sustainability were considered. This house is a “living” organism that adapts to the environment and benefits from it.
